This being our first blog article, we wish to introduce our page with an article that describes what we are all about…EMOTIONAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL WELLNESS… As partners in counseling and training in this topic, we do try our level best to be our very best in this area of wellness as much as it can never attain perfection. So, in this article, we have tried to talk about the emotional and psychological wellness, what it is, how to boost it and the benefits of the wellness. You can try and tailor make it to fit your individuality and see what works well for you.
… “I had such a physically tiring sleepless night because baby didn’t sleep well. He was running a high fever and he was so restless. I had to remove him from his baby cot to our bed in between and squeeze myself on the edge of the bed as I nursed him. He seemed to calm down in our bed but would keep turning. Apart from him, other members of the family including me haven’t been feeling well and all that seems to be taking a toll on my physical body…exhaustion. In fact, prior to yesterday night, the baby wasn’t sleeping well not for any apparent reason that I could pick. And so, the tiredness I am experiencing is a series of few nights. Yet morning and the day is here and several things need my mental, emotional and physical attention. What am I to do? What impact will the buildup of all this night activities have on me mentally and emotionally apart from the physical part of it?’’…
If I was to go round today asking different people to share their physically or emotionally distressing experiences, I would harvest many sacks. That is how life plays day in day out. Today happens to be me and another day, someone else. Some days and nights are easier and others, dramatic and challenging yet we can’t choose the inevitable and uncertainties of life from such as deaths, to challenges or loss of jobs, school and work pressure/load, peer pressure, difficult interpersonal relationships such as in marriage, parenting, nuclear and extended families, tension with in laws, unmet expectations and desires, financial constraints, childhood and past traumatic experiences, natural disaster, crime, security issues, nanny issues etc. I could go on and on… the list is endless. All this impacts us somehow mentally and emotionally. They can weigh quite heavily on us… but how and what to do about it is the big question to be tackled…
As Partners in Counseling and Training, we hope to take us through this journey of helping us understand this wellness we are talking about, the emotional and psychological part of the wellness, how to go about it and the benefits.We have had many sessions with clients who with a lot of counseling support, have come out from the sessions emotionally and mentally healed and empowered, ready to face and cope positively with what life would throw to them.
So join us as we take this journey to become an emotionally and mentally healthy society who in turn project this wellness physically to becoming productive at their family life, school, work/business place and in their interpersonal relationships.
